IT-Program
IT Training program has been designed exclusively to serve the school children & community for skill-set built-up in Information Technology. With the help of the range of programs, IT education is provided striking on our vision - ‘education for all’. The programs mainly focus on building the children’s academic skills by educating them through numerous educational games & realistic projects, books, worksheets, etc. It aims at providing quality education with the help of IT, with major focus on practical knowledge. Thus, it makes the program The Skilling program for youth. This creates a strong base for the community offering effective courses that strengthen IT literacy skills; hence making them ‘illiterate to e-literate’.
Computer Aided Learning (CAL):
CAL provides in training for the primary school children (Std. I to IV) mainly focus on the school syllabus based on the guidelines under the Central & State Government. With the aid of computers & educational software designed by Sanchar, we try to enhance the child’s basic competencies like knowledge of number, operations on numbers, geometry, recognition of vowels and consonants, word formation, Basic English vocabulary, pronunciation, recognition of measurements, recognition of direction, map reading, social studies and general knowledge. The school children, who pass the competencies laid in the educational games, are certified by IBM for qualifying in their computer exams as a token of appreciation.
Computer Learning Program (CLP):
In CLP, training is provided to the secondary school children (Std. V to VII), on a Project-based Learning (PBL) module. The PBL module focuses on Office Automation, Animation and Internet. Through the PBL module of learning, children link their daily activities and surrounding incidences with technology. Some of the activities include work on MS Office for general office administration purposes; preparing publicity material like prospectus, pamphlets, print advertisement; resume writing, letter writing, writing news articles, and making MS PowerPoint Presentations etc. The Project-based learning has proved useful for children to memorize computer commands as compared to regular pedagogy method. The children are awarded certification from Intel India on clearing the competencies. Training is designed in such a way that provides children an opportunity to specialize in Graphics and Programming. For Std. VIII, the training focuses on graphic designing skills, where children learn to prepare news layouts, print advertisement, pamphlets, fashion designing, designs for CD inlay covers, and magazine layouts using applications like Corel Draw, Photoshop and PageMaker.
In Std. IX and X, the training focuses on Programming skills including C language, HTML, Access, Visual Basic & My SQL. Software development knowledge is also provided in training, with the aim to provide student a path to choose their career. Regular workshops on software and hardware are also conducted.
Youth Training:
Sanchar intends at empowerment of youth for employment opportunities. They are trained via compiled & published user-friendly books in Marathi, Hindi & English. The training covers hands-on training on subjects like Office Automation, Desk Top Publishing (DTP), Financial Accounting (Tally), Internet & Web Designing, Computer languages like C, C++ & Visual Basic. The training also enables the youth to gain knowledge for setting up franchise modules for running their own independent computer learning centres. They are also trained to prepare for the Maharashtra State Certificate in Information Technology (MS-CIT), with a joint certification from Intel India.
Till date around 20,000 youth from the underprivileged sections provided with computer education.
